Criminal court of Paris

Defending victims of rapes and sexual assaults with violence.

In this case, several victims lodged a complaint for rape and sexual assault with violence against the same perpetrator for facts going back up in 2011 and beginning of 2012.

The definition of the rape in French law is:

"Any act of sexual penetration, whatever its nature, committed against another person by violence, constraint, threat or surprise, is rape.

Rape is punished by fifteen years' criminal imprisonment." (article 222-23 penal code)

In this case, the prosecutor required a punishment of 8 years of detention.

The criminal court of Paris - composed of 3 judges and 6 jurors - convicted the accused, sentenced him to 7 years of detention and a definitive ban on the French territory (Criminal court of PARIS, September 5, 2014).
